Conduct Disorder

Conduct Disorder is a mental health condition characterized by a pattern of persistent antisocial behavior and violations of societal norms and rules. It typically emerges in childhood or adolescence and can significantly impair a person's social, academic, and occupational functioning. Conduct Disorder is often considered a precursor to more severe behavioral problems later in life, such as antisocial personality disorder.

Psychological counselling provides individuals with the tools, insights, and support they need to overcome conduct disorder and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. By addressing underlying psychological factors and teaching effective coping strategies, counselling empowers individuals to break free from the cycle of antisocial behavior and develop more positive and adaptive ways of interacting with the world around them.

Treatment for Conduct Disorder typically involves a combination of psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and family therapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is often used to help individuals develop coping skills, impulse control, anger management strategies, and empathy for others. Parent training programs may also be helpful in teaching parents effective discipline techniques and improving family communication and dynamics. In some cases, medication may be prescribed to address co-occurring symptoms such as aggression, impulsivity, or mood disturbances.
